Sound Board works with some of the most underserved demographics in America: prisons, juvenile detention centers, substance abuse treatment programs, foster homes and youth centers in low-income areas are amongst are daily venues. It is in these spaces we find the voices that get lost in the general mix, and it's our goal to level that mix. Sound Board doesn’t just help the wider public to understand the stories of those who usually fall under their radar - it helps participants understand their own stories, to process trauma and hardship in constructive ways, to emotionally connect with themselves and with other participants. Sound Board is about equipping people, all people - with the tools to reclaim their narratives, and creating content that changes the public paradigm from ‘what is wrong with you?’ to ‘what happened to you? I’m listening’.
